I found this on IMDb today.

Apparently it isn't coming to the UK until late summer. If anyone here sees it on the 11 July (sunday). Can they post a quick review of the pilot to let me(us) know whether it is worth the wait. I'll probably see it anyway but want to know if it is more than a Close Encounters/X-Files clone.

Cheers.

Any of you other UKers notice that all the best drama on telly is made by the septics? Comedy, we can do - but has the beeb made any decent drama in the last ten years? What do we have that's on par with 'Six Feet Under', or 'ER'? Eastenders? Do me a lemon!

As for ITV drama - good grief, Charlie Brown. It's all Grant Mitchell, variously wronged and angry.

Is it me or is telly getting poo-ier every year?

I quite liked Spooks, except that they only played the first series here, left it on a cliffhanger, and haven't returned to it since [Mad]

Edit: Actually, apparently there's been Series 1 and 2 already, 14 episodes in total. Series 3 isn't out yet, though ...

I had a 4400/160 for several years, as it was the only model I could afford and the clone makers weren't quite shipping at the time. It was a great machine. Except that it was very picky about which days it would let ADB devices work. And it was never too happy about using certain PCI cards. And the floppy drive was incredably unreliable. And it would never turn on unless the power cord was pulled out and re-inserted. And extra RAM/VRAM/cache RAM was a) very difficult to source and b) very very expensive. But other than that...

I'm looking forward to seeing this because it's written by Ira Steven Behr and René Echevarria, who were both involved with the best Trek series (IMHO) Deep Space Nine.

Ok so that didn't work. What did I do wrong? Does it have to come from a known website?

Damn, never thought I would be the one to go off topic (on purpose).

You have a space after the last slash, and you're trying to put a page in an image tag.

You want to have *link here* - as a link, using the url tag:

code:
 [url=http://www.blahblahblahblah...com] *link here* [/url]

Shameless plug. (Please forgive me.)

Cheers, actually it was the image UBB code I was trying to use.

(Almost posted "UBB coed I was trying to use" Fnar, fnar!)

Should it have been [img=http://www.blahblahblah.com]?
Hmm but that would have required a [/img] at the end and would have had nothing between the two [] []s.

Advice?

was posted using...

But do not try to post a page inside an img tag - it won't work.

Actually, you need to link to a picture using the image tag like this:
 -

Is that the picture you were after??

Yeah, Spooks was pretty cool - they aired it on A&E over here, though under a different name, which I presently forget. I saw much of season 1, but haven't really watched TV at all since, so realy wouldn't know what happened since [Razz] .

P.S. Oh yeah, they called it "MI-6" -- I guess "Spooks" just wasn't a cool enough title in the states, and doesn't quite carry the meaning as well.

Well, according to the BBC website, it was because people in the US would assume spooks = CIA. Hence renaming to MI-5

It was probably more likely that people here would think of the racist connotation of the word first.

Er...yeah...what's a one or two here and there? [Wink] I knew that didn't sound right, and I confess I couldn't be arsed to look it up on IMDb then...sorry.

fanboy

I am watching it right now. Strange.

It starts off a little slow but get better as the hour goes by.

I don't know if it will be for everybody but I think it's kinda cool.

CommanderShroom

edit:

It appears to be a story that is about the return of 4400 people that were abducted and returned. And what happens to them after they return to society. Not an X-files clone so far. It sits in the same genre, though.
