Well, I turned 24 today and I can't say that it was the best of days. I had to work all day, then went to summer school. A guy that I've been seeing for the last few weeks asked me (twice!) to take me out tonight to celebrate. It's now 11:09 my time and I've yet to hear from him at all. My roommate text messaged him earlier (he's her bf's roommate) asking how he was doing. He said that he was sick and she said "Oh, aren't you two going out tonight?" He wrote her back that he's not feeling well and he's tired. I totally got stood up.

He didn't so much as call to say hello or happy birthday, nor did he bother to call to cancel plans. I spent my 24th birthday sitting at home watching 16 Candles and Dirty Dancing. God, how lame is that?

Happy Birthday geekgoddess!

I don't like the way this smells:( He could have at least given you a call and told you he was not feeling well. Hmmm, who knows. Now, you just go out tonight and celebrate with your girlfriends and have fun. Life is way too short to let some guy bring you down. Ahhh, to be 24 again...

Forget him, he's gay.

(not that there's anything wrong with that...)

TFD: Bwahahahaha....Your response made me snort coffee this morning. Excellent.
Geekygoddess: Sorry about your birthday, that kind of inconsiderate behavior deserves a dope slap. As I have aged, Birthdays have become less and less important, partly as a way to deal with the decline of consideration among humans these days.

If you ever get stood up again, dont wait on them. Just go do something you like and have a good time.

Also a good way to learn what a jerk you are keeping company with, and to thank whatever deity cares to listen that you are done expending time, energy and attention on such a jerk.

Well, it could have been worse. Trust me. I have family members who specialize in lame-ass birthdays. Mine just get trashed by labwork.

Anyway, write the guy off as the douche he is and move along. He ain't worth it.

Thanks to all of you! I agree that if this isn't a hint at his true character and level of douche bag-ery then I don't know what is. You never stand a girl up on her birthday. Ever. And the 10 seconds its took him to text my roommate back could have been spent letting ME know that I could make other plans. Jerk.

Ah, well, we live and we learn. 24 is sort of anti-climatic anyways. I just would have preferred to not have had some ass hurt my feelings.

Oh, I definitely plan on it. He and I are almost guaranteed to see each other soon as we're in the same social circle, and I intend on looking as good as humanly possible, being sweet as pie, and then totally blowing him off. Vindictive? Probably. Gratifying? I think so. [Big Grin]

Excellent, revenge always makes you feel better.

I would personally team up with his room mate and just pull off a good old childhood prank that makes him look like even more of an idiot.

Happy Birthday Geek Goddess!

I would say this fellow is not a douce bag. No, he is a supreme, ultra-galactic, super-duper douche bag.

And he's probably gay, had AIDS and is mean to puppies, too.

Twenty-four is a great age. Enjoy every day of it.

He is a total doo-doo head. Not worth the time.

Now go out and find your true love, for the night.
