Love is what makes two people sit in the middle of a bench when there is plenty of room at both ends.

Congratulations on finding someone to sit with.

I am totally stealing that and writing it on a card. Seriously, that belongs in Hallmark. [thumbsup]

Ring pics! I tried to use my friend's camera, but it didn't have a USB port, so I ended up scanning my hand, which is why it looks so distorted. Still, you can see the ring and that's the important part! [Smile]

Congratulations! I'm glad you two are happy together...and the ring is bitchin'. It'll leave an interesting and unique imprint if you ever have to, say, punch off unwanted advances now that you're well and truly spoken for. [Razz]

You might want to invest in some quality surgical instruments if you decide to follow this advice - it'll probably be rather difficult to extricate the broken stones from the unwise lad's torn flesh using nothing but your bare fingers [Smile]

Hehe... I said something like that when we were discussing the ring with my mom. I told Jonathan he got me an awfully dangerous ring... all the more reason for him to be careful around me, I guess. (Not that he doesn't already treat me very tenderly, but to just be somewhat careful during our more aggressive moments!)

It would probably be a good idea to remove the ring during the more aggressive moments [Razz]

Either that, or they've decided to follow Zorro's and Demos' lead. I've dated a chick who's into that sort of stuff - think Demos Light, a smaller and somewhat less featured version of everyone's favorite bikeriding axemurderer. A rather interesting character, to say the least, but she didn't resemble a Klingon in any way.

I don't get the Klingon reference, but really, the only way Jonathan could get scratched by my ring is if it rotated on my finger and I didn't realize it. When I'm cold, my fingers shrink and it slids around. Actually, I'm the one who would need to be careful. I'm afraid that if I left it on at night, my long hair would get caught in it. I'm planning to donate my hair to Locks of Love once we get married, so it won't be an issue then.

I believe he's referring to some episodes of later Star Trek series' where it's established that Klingons apply their aggressive tendencies to romance as well. [Wink]

Ahhh. Makes sense now. Thanks, Sxepto.

I always liked that episode where Spock asks his father (a Vulcan) why he married Spock's mother. His father replies like a "no duh" moment: "It was the logical thing to do."

Absolutely brilliant writing, that!

Rhonwyyn, congratulations. The ring is truly beautiful. When my hub-B and I went to choose rings we opted for a stainless steel version, a bit tech-ier than the classical stuff, but we're not very romantic either ... The one you've got is really elvish [Wink]

Hey, I think it's been made clear enough to these boards that, in these particular situations, I prefer to be on the receiving end of the violence, thankyouverymuch. [Razz]
