/me dodges the hordes of "Bah, Valentine's Day is just a day for capitalists to become richer"

So, it's just around the corner, and I have to ask, what is everyone doing for Valentine's day? Who's your Valentine? Unlike last year, my valentine won't be in a brown paper bag.

Some of you know of Couka, right? Ofcoarse, well, we're together AGAIN. We'll be spending Valentine's day together, trying to not even worry about what's happening in 2 weeks.

I wrote/am writing a song for her, and am having flowers sent to her while she's in school, and then picking her up for dinner and a movie afterwards, we'll be seeing "Window Theory" which our own macmcseboy will have a cameo in. I still don't know just where we'll go for dinner, probably around a campfire down by the river.

Anyway, what is everyone else doing?

Alright now, that's the last straw, I'm calling the ass taxidermist to tell him to stop making hats in your size RIGHT NOW.

Hmmm...

With the new black market concerning second hand $3x dolls, combined with the widespread availability of cheesy 70's pr0n, the possibilities are endless...

I'm sending my best friend a really random card the day before, just to be different. And I think I might leave a card in the pigeon hole of this cute girl who's in some of my sedimentology lectures [Smile]

As I am 'sweetie-less' this year, I will probably do what I do every weeknight. Come home, cook dinner, clean up, and hang out around the house. Exciting huh? [ohwell]

That makes two of us BW.
Come home, search the fridge for some food, make sure that it is dead, nuke it, dump dishes in sink, if sink full, then dump dishes somewhere in kitchen, turn on computer, surf web for a while then play Civ III until about 3am.
Oh wait I am DMing an LG game on the 14th, weeee [ohwell] fell like a TPK.

Oooh, I almost forgot to start a thread, and/or spread an idea here. If you're fed up with this crass, overcommercialized holiday, join a friend of mine and I, and dress in *all black* on the 14th. [Big Grin]

Spread the cheer. [Smile]

Hmmm.

What if you already dress in all black. Should I wear white? Perhaps with some chicken blood accents? [Wink]

On a side note. I told someone at work I was doing the amusement park thing, last week. And they said that it would be the perfect opportunity to wear a color other than black. So I told her that I had a new black shirt just for the occasion. [Big Grin]

I'll be hoping to get something from a secret admirer, then I will pretend it is just another ordinary day as I'll get nothing. [ohwell]

(It's important to know the difference between dreams and reality, and I'm pretty good both at dreaming and coming back to earth. [Roll Eyes] )

So, to all who have a sweetheart, enjoy Valentine's day. For those who don't, enjoy your computer! [Big Grin]

I'll be taking my sweetheart to the traditional dinner and a movie. Nothing special, but it doesn't need to be.

I'll be trying not to think about it, really...

I was supposed to be meeting up with an "internet penpal" on Monday -- she'll be in NYC on a few days holiday (she lives in CA); I was supposed to fly out from London to meet up with her, but it didn't work out...

:-(

Oh well, say lavvy...

Valentine's is on Monday, so I will be celebrating on Sunday. We were thinking of going to see Othello down in Berkeley, but we may go on a ferry ride to San Francisco and have a picnic in Golden Gate Park instead.

Dman, I would join you in your protest except that I've heard that such cynicism is an annoyance to the fairer sex. Thus, if I want to have any hope of not wearing black on future Valentine's days, I'd better not start now.

I like Stereo's idea. I think I'll wait for something from a secret admirer all day, and when it doesn't arrive, not be disappointed. I do wish I had *someone* to be my Valentine though. [cry baby]

Awww! Thanks, TFD, those roses are very nice.
[blush]

Aside: I had a feeling something like that would happen. I should have added something like: "Only real secret admirers need apply." But I'll keep the virtual roses anyway! [Big Grin] Or rather, I'll share them with the other Valentine-less ladies of the forum. (As for the Valentine-less gentlemen, would a nice hug and kiss-on-cheek do the trick?)

You had me at "hug and kiss". The "-on-cheek" part is quite unnecessary.

Hey now! I don't wear black everyday. [Smile] I probably would do that, but I prefer not to be subject to the hacker stereotypes that people might label me with. Much as I gravitate towards black, and dark blue, I try to have something a bit lighter on as well, to not appear dead. Right now, I'm wearing a dark blue checked shirt and blue jeans. Therefore, it will actually be unprecedented for me to come in head-to-toe black. [Razz]

magefile: I don't think I have anything to lose - I doubt I'll be around any prospects anyway. Besides, black suits me pretty well - hopefully it won't be seen as antagonstic, but just an extension of Steve Jobs wardrobe, or summat like that (except I have a head full of hair, and don't look evil [Wink] ). [Sorry folks, I think Steve looks a lot more evil in his balding scruffy ways.]

Nah, I rarely wear hats - but I'm a white hat, thank you very much. [Smile]

I'm flying back to the UK tomorrow afternoon and spending a long weekend with my girlfriend. We don't have anything much planned, just hanging out together. I ordered her some new pyjamas picture (not my GF) should I give them tomorrow or wait until Monday?
