I wish to restart the Health care debate.
Kaiser Family Foundation
The exhibit Two is quite telling and Exhibit Six speaks volumes. I seem to have lost the slide about longevity.

Critical thing to remember: There's absolutely nothing wrong with our healthcare system as it is. In fact, it's so fantastic that our seniors should just take vouchers to support the upstanding ladies and gentlemen in private industry, as they know better than Medicare. Anything that sounds more 'equitable' is a Commie ploy, or socialism at the very least.

(Oh, and the favorite thing I've heard: Smoking shouldn't be banned, as the government would be foolish not to appreciate the decline in longevity afforded by 'possible' side effects of tobacco use.)

moman_ I do not know who supports this kaiser family research group but they are making up data to support thier arguments.
I am shocked how blatant this is and how easily proved this is.
Pick a few countries ( say switzerland) and double check some of the easier to look up data points they have in their graphs like per capita GDP ( exhibit 2). They are off by about 25,000.
Also, have purchased the basic legally required insurance in switzerland for years I don't believe the per capita health care numbers for one second.
to summarize:
THE WEB PAGE IS MOSTLY EASILY PROVED BLATANT LIES.

Ash, I didn't scrutinize that page, but the country charts look pretty similar to ones I've seen routinely in the Times. I'm pretty sure most countries other than us figured out how to keep health costs reasonable as a portion of GDP. I'm pretty sure all the quirks of the different systems still boil down to being similar except for the fact that we let anyone get any sort of care all the time, without ever determining if it will help, and/or if it's remotely medically necessary.

My issue is that during the debate in 2009 "K" Street Lobbyists gave out boatloads of money to members of Congress, none of that money went to help a single person.
CBS News
i Watch news
There must be waste in the system if that amount of money can be spent/ given away as a cost of doing business.
On most of the major health care testing points age, live births. The USA is number 26.

They're sucking in 1 dollar in every 6, of course they're going to spend like sailors on shore leave to protect their position.
As for the politicians who take that money, well, we all know where sailors on shore leave traditionally spend most of their money...
