Surprise surprise! That page no longer works. Googling Palin Bingo however produces at least three different versions.

This is make or break for her. However she is supposed to be at her best in debates like this, so Joe Biden will have to be very clever and charming himself if he does not want to be outflanked by her. He has a reputation for being garrulous, and if he waffles it would play to her strengths.

There are some interesting links on Justin Webb's BBC blog page, including this hatchet job on Biden, so she has plenty of ammunition if the conversation turns to her lack of experience.

All in all, I wouldn't write her off just yet.

you can't write her off, because history shows that there is a small but significant group of people who will not allow their opinion to be swayed by stupidity, no matter the quantity.

It's not so much that people won't let their opinion be deterred by stupidity as it is that people will choose stupidity over intelligence. In American politics, intelligence is equated with elitism because it's an easy attack and the public almost always falls for it.

If a candidate's opponent is more capable, better educated and more qualified, the candidate will point out those qualifications but use them as evidence that his opponent is elitist and out of touch with the common man.

It worked for Bush... twice... and McCain is trying make the same argument work for him (although it would work a lot better if not for things like this).
