http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/21/palin.rape.exams/index.html

When Sarah Palin was mayor of Wasilla, her town could not afford to investigate rapes. Mind you that is in a state that has the highest rape rate in the nation.

So the victims were charged $1,000 for the rape kits. That's right, they charged the victim for the cost of the investigation.

Imagine how a crime investigation couldl go at your home if all these tax cutting, blame-the-victim Republicans get to rule the country another four years ...

Officer: "Looks like the home was broken into, three kids were sexually violated and stabbed to death, the family cat and dog were gutted, "Helter Skelter" was written all over the walls in their blood, and there is a goat head and pentagram in the middle of the TV room. With CSI, APBs, warrants, and we'll even throw in an arrest or two, best estimate is that this is going to cost you at least $250,000 to investigate, and if you want to prosecute ..."

Think that is outrageous? Right now the Republicans want to bill American taxpayers close to a trillion dollars for crimes committed on Wall Street.

From Wall Street in New York City to Main Street in Wasilla, Alaska, this is the look of Republican tax cuts in America.

_______________ CP __ de TheMoMan __ And you forgot unlawful fireings, or fireings for not cause.

Sat night on one of the PBS stations, the talk about the 700 Billion was that it was low about 3x so lets look at 2.1 trillion.

Mo-Man,

And why should we believe the Bush administration? Were there any Weapons of Mass Destruction? Roses in the streets of Baghdad? Yellowcake Uranium from Niger?

Can this whole thing be another scare job from the political party that thrives on scare jobs?

Is this just some money grab to help pay off Republican cronies on Wall Street?

The whole bunch of them are such a bunch of crooks. With the clueless right-wing voter supporting everything Fox News tells them, is the right looking at working people as an easy mark?

I mean if Palin thinks it's OK to charge crime victims for investigating a crime, and right-wingers supporting that thinking, is there anything the kooks won't support?

For clarification, the policy was already in effect when Palin became mayor. However, the police chief she appointed (after firing the previous one when she took office) apparently fought tooth and nail against a statewide effort to ban the practice (it passed by a wide margin, fortunately). From the article I've seen, the main issue is that she did absolutely nothing about it.

It looks bad, but there are better reasons not to vote McCain/Palin.
