After seeing a few kids sports events, the language doesn't surprise me one bit. I'm surprised she didn't go out onto the ice!

As the mighty snupestress said, there are so many reasons to hate her, but perhaps the most compelling is that she doesn't like cats! [Eek!] [Eek!]

quote:
When asked to reveal something about Palin that no one knows, one woman offered, "She doesn't care for cats very much," and another chimed in, "Oh, yes, she's afraid of my cat."
There you are, she's kissed goodbye to the geek vote! [Big Grin]

I reckon nibbler knows that Grumm, he's actually an old member (Chesty), but with a new account and name.

Why did you ditch the old name, Chesty/nibbler?

Yup, that's Chesty alright.
IIRC, he disappeared shortly after posting a malicious link on a thread.

Not liking cats is one thing. I can sort of see why a cat wouldn't be someone's cup of tea. Sort of. I personally adore fuzzy mammals and cats are no exception. But I can't understand fearing cats. WTF?

Well, she was an upstanding member of a Pentecostal church and, as every good Christian* knows, cats are used as familiars by witches and thus are to be considered evil and anyone associating with them should be burned at the stake! Evil I tell you!

*sadly, there are idiots in the audience so I'm going to disclaim this and point out that I am intentionally misrepresenting Pentecostal and Christian beliefs for the purpose of humor. Offer void where prohibited. Not to be taken internally, externally or seriously.

I had dogs while I was growing up, but not cats. However, when we visited other people, there'd occasionally be cats. I had a string of bad luck in that the first several cats I encountered were the type that are very friendly until they've had enough attention, whereupon they'll scratch the crap out of your hand without warning. For years, I couldn't imagine why anyone would keep such an animal around the house. It seemed on par with keeping piranhas in a fish tank.

That changed when I met some people who had friendly and well-behaved cats, and I saw that not all cats were sociopathic.

In my long and soul-searching hiatus, I too have added to my menagerie one feline creature. It waits at the foot of my bed to draw blood at dawn's first light and has me cowering all day long in fear of fuiuchi.

My son heard this pitiful cry last September 13. It had rained the night before. He was at the back of our property. Our neighbor met him there and said it must be coming from under her shed.

He crawled under and returned with a kitten so tiny I didn't think it would last the day. When he said it was his responsibility because he rescued it, I could not argue - I had taught him that.
 -
Secretly I was relieved that the puny, soggy, closed-eye thing would surely pass before the sun went down.

That was a full year and 18 pounds ago, dammit! The fat sumbitch has the audacity to crawl up on my chest in my sleep and try to suck my soul out.

Setting your flash to red-eye reduction can solve the glowing eye problem. Or just not using the flash, if you can.

Just sayin'.

And so by association...

Palin = Evil
Pailn = Kitty?

Which means she'd be a hypocrite in saying she doesn't like kitties when she is one. So would that also me she doesn't like herself as well?

They usually stop that when they find out how far you can throw them.

/me once shared a house with such a critter, a few 'flying lessons' did the trick.
