To all concerned....

Nitrozac and I find Forum posts that have degraded into immature name calling and cruelty very disruptive.

Posting like that is trolling, is a disservice to your ideals, moves the conversation nowhere, and just continues the anger and hatred that has poisoned US politics and humanity in general.

So, simply put, if someone, anyone, even you reading this now, continues to post in this immature manner, they will lose their posting privileges.

fondly,
The Babysitter.

Thank you. Hopefully I'll find more conversations to participate in after this.

but but but

Yeah I totally agree - we are all mature people and we shouldn't be resorting to name calling or anything of that nature. I would like to add that I think if you find a post of someone's that fits Snaggy's description of "name calling" to please send them a pm. Sometimes people are caught up in the moment and don't know what they are posting and would gladly remove it if they were told what they posted is not tolerated around here.

Thanks Snaggy - now can I stay up past nine and have a cookie?

Since I was one of the people who helped bring about this, I'd been trying to decide what, if anything, I should add to this thread:

I'm sorry the ultimatum became necessary, but I'm glad it's been issued. I know I probably look like a jerk at the moment, but that's OK... I'm just ready for some peace around here.

While I wasn't involved in the 'last straw', I was certainly involved in the build up to it. I probably would have been in the middle but... I just got to the point where I honestly didn't care enough to respond anymore. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Meh. If I disappear, I can be found in /radio on KoL during ADH's shows.

Sxepto, I didn't think you were/are a jerk. I think you held out as patiently and rationally as could be expected under the circumstances, and finally just had too much of it. I'm glad Snaggy and Nitro have said enough is enough. The vitriol was getting knee-deep and hard to wade through sometimes.

Steen, is it bad that I'm on the 15th level, but haven't played for about a week? It takes so long to beat an opponent or clear out a task that the game's just no fun anymore. Does it get better than this eventually?

There are probably faster ways to accomplish things that you've missed. If you ask me about them, I'll offer up advice.

As far as the game being fun... I give lots of stuff away, help others, mail my pants to my favorite DJ, chat with certain people in /radio, flirt far too much, collect outfits to get tattoos and collect trophies. It's as fun as you make it *shrug*

Well, Why did Al Gore go and invent the internet if we can't go on endless rants on topics which we have no understanding, pound our philosophical chest and proclaim all who disagree to be complete morons?

All that's left is porn.

/me has no idea what this is all about, and is glad about that.

As someone else would probably say "Be good to one another...dude." (Or something like that.)

Now then, I think I'm going to the kitchen to finish off a tasty corn muffin. I should probably just be enjoying the peace & quiet of the ~outdoor/quiet area I'm in now...but I have WiFi + SSH, and I can't sleep.

G'night web!

Yeah that. Maybe the thread should be stickied as a reminder if this is becoming a recurring problem?

Attention all planets of the Solar Federation - we have assumed control... step away from the keyboard and remember the following...
