Hi ALL ---------------- Well a friend E-mailed this to me today, I am unsure of its source but then again it may be funny.
Subject: Historical Quote of the Day Date: Sat, 15 Sep 2007 00:52:45 +0000 Subject: Historical Quote of the Day (AP) "A moment I've been dreading. George (Bush Sr.) brought his ne're-do-well son around this morning and asked me to find the kid a job. Not the political one who lives in Florida. The one who hangs around here all the time looking shiftless. This so-called kid is already almost 40 and has never had a real job. Maybe I'll call Kinsley over at The New Republic and see if they'll hire him as a contributing editor or something. That looks like easy work." -- Ronald Reagan in his recently published diaries, written May 17, 1986

Yeah I read this a couple weeks ago - now a days that quote has just been added to the volumes upon volumes of reasons why Bush shouldn't be president.

You want a Bush quote that shows that? I've just been reading Dead Certain and they mention something that Bush said after being elected governor of Texas, "Blacks didn't come out for me like the Hispanics did. So they're not gonna see much help from me."

Unfortunately, Reagan never wrote that. It is still, however, a lovely piece of satire.

Awww Xan that's spoiled the fun!
Still it can't beat what we actually know as fact about him. The son of a patrician East Coast family who passes himself off (to himself as much as the world) as a hoaky Texan "man of the people", an alcoholic whose rabbit in the headlight eyes can only cope with that simplified view of the world seen though lens of the fundamentalist religion that keeps him from the demon drink. And then this seriously bizarre psychological case study not only gets elected, but serves two full terms.
If it was fiction it would not be credible.
