Halliburton is Dick Cheney's company.

Dubai is the country Dick Cheney wanted to sell all our port security to.

Halliburton is also the company that received a no-bid contract to maintain (among other failed no-bid contracts) ---- Walter Reed Hospital.

Scooter Libbey is a convicted felon and the foreman of the Jury that convicted Scooter asked, "Where is Dick Cheney?"

Dubai has no extradition treaties with the USA for "political" prisoners.

See Dick Run.

Run, Dick, Run.

Much as I dislike Haliburton and Dick Cheney, I must point out that the business advantage gained by moving the office to Dubai is tremendous. It isn't necessarily a Cheney-on-the-run scenario (that's a pleasant mental image, though!).

Spaz,

I understand your comment, but I had to check the extradition treaty status with this country before I posted. And found it very friendly to a crook on the run.

The timing was too curious, particularly in a post-Enron/Worldcom age.

If this were such a great opportunity, why not move sooner. Why wait until the week that your former CEO, and a man whit a huge trust at stake in the company is facing questions on everything from obstruction of justice to failures at Walter Reed Hospital?

I mean-- THE VERY WEEK.

This could have waited a news cycle or two.

Oh, did I mention the exposure of Bush/Cheney in their efforts to replace any Federal Prosecuting Attorneys who refused to bend the law in Bush/Cheney's favor?
