Hi All

Five years ago the FBI did not connect the dots when it kept getting
calls about non US students and flight schools. Now we have a bunch of
characters going around and buying cell phones at retail and claiming
that their boss is going to give them five dollars each over cost for
the phones. Now who buys at five over cost? Why isn't the boss buying at
wholesale by the truckload? The FBI responce is they have no connection
to any known terrorist group, yoo hoo maybe there is a new one.

Yes, you are too paranoid. Walmart are selling the phones below retail as a loss leader. It is therefore possible to buy the phones at walmart, and sell them on at a higher price to people who don't know better.

It is almost like a tax on the stupid, similar to the lottery, or ebay.

Except the lottery typically preys on those who are most likely to shop at Walmart. So at least these overpriced phones are more of a tax on those who can afford it [Wink]

_____So now the plot thickens, it seems as that within hours of the Caro Michigan arrest two men in Ohio, are stopped for erratic driving. In the vehicle are found hundreds of cell phones. When questioned they reply that their brother has a construction company and they are purchasing them for him, when asked for the company name and phone number the story changes. Also found a map of security for the local airport and the next two weeks flight schedules, The FBI has the locals release the Detroit men.

_____Ithaca Michigan the Dollar store has two men get very upset over Corporation policy to limit Cell phone purchases to two phones a day.

_____Back to Caro the local Prosecutor will not release the men he claims to have enough evidence to convict. He withdraws the filing with out malice meaning that it can be reinstated, while the Feds come back and charge the three men from Texas with trafficking in counterfeit goods, seems that they would disassemble the phones and put the innards into different cases that sell for more and resell them for more that the five dollars profit.
