Ah, here we go. And now, without further wait, I am proud to introduce.

...well... me.

I stumbled upon this forum a few days ago, and decided that I would join up and hang around for a bit. My name is Mark, and I'm a self-proclaimed, "Geek of all trades".

I think that's a good basic introduction. So, hello!

But thanks for the warnings. I'll keep them in mind.

Greetings MC43, and welcome.

There's coffee in the pot, beer in the fridge, and cheap Ecuadorian whisky on the top shelf behind the large pile of old 'for Dummies' books.

So, is the name pronounced "Em See four three" or "Mc Forty-three"?

_______________________ MC43 __ I don't know where my first post on this topic went but it was not in the topic this morning. I believe I may be one of the people that the young lady is warning you about, you know how it is with kids.

I believe that I am the resident old fart I am drawing SS. I worked in the machine tool industry as it progressed from all hand controlled machines, and having to do all of our own math, to having a Unigraphics seat and doing about four times as much machining in one day as before.

Retirement Working people frequently ask us what we do to make our days interesting. Well, for example, we went into town and went into a shop. We were only in there for about five minutes. When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. We went up to him and I said, Come on, man, how about giving a senior citizen a break? He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. We called him a dumb donkey. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires. So we said he was a stupid insensitive fuzz-head. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes; and the more we verbally abused him, the more tickets he wrote. Just then our bus arrived. We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired. It's important at our age.

HA ha ha. That's a good one MoMan.

Wow... a lot of comments, let me try and address them all.

GeekyGoddess - At no point do I believe that I should fear you. Unless you scare me, in which case, I may, but we'll see what happens.

Druid - Thank you, but I'll just stick with my ice cold water. Mmm... water just on the brink of solidifying. And the name is [Em-Cee forty-three].

Did I miss anyone?
