Since Aditu had asked what everyone's favorite holiday baking was, I figured I'd ask what everyone's favorite holiday drink is (please include a recipie, as I may want to try some of them).

Mine's easy:
Eggnog, and a signifigant amount of Captain Morgan Dark [Smile]

I'm an easy one to please:

1 can Red Bull (I prefer the sugar-free variety.)
2 shots Jaegermeister

Mix into a pint glass. Enjoy. I like it because it keeps me awake, but drunk enough to tolerate my extended family, and tastes somewhat like sweetened blood. [evil]

This is a yummy sweet drink

1 shot Vodka
1 shot amaretto
Equal parts Orange Juice & Cranberry Juice

Or make a big batch of it in a punch bowl for guests.
(this is also good for Halloween as it somewhat looks like blood, but unlike Demosthenes drink it does not taste like blood)

Or give me a Gin & Tonic or Whiskey on the rocks.

Hot Buttered Rum

(from memory .. eek)

1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened
1/2 pound of butter, softened (but not too mushy)
1/2 cup honey
1 1/2 pounds brown sugar
1-2 Tablespoons cinnamon

Cream together butter and sugar, add honey and cinnamon, cream in ice cream

In a mug put:

2 T of the mix
1 shot light rum
1 shot dark rum
hot water to top it off.
Mix thoroughly

Yummy.

Its a local sweet brazilian red wine sold in 15-liter bottles for as little as $10.

Anything that will get me inebriated.

I preffer a Gin and tonic. But not the cheap gin. Tanquray or Bombay (Not the saphire. The regular tastes better I think) Or a lager always works too.

I might get a bottle of Mead. I finally tried it about a month ago and liked it. It's a little on the sweet side but still good.

I figured I'd add this one - I'm not a fan of milk drinks, but it's fairly popular in my family:

Silver Bells -
1/2 oz Vodka (Grey Goose)
1/2 oz Baileys
1/2 oz creme de cacao
1 oz milk
Make as a martini, serve with ice, garnish with a candy cane or a mint ovation

Malt sampler: 10 year old Glenkirchie; 15 year old Dalwinnie and 14 year old Oban.

Actually I prefer 25 years and older, maturity and experience outweighs youth anyday [Big Grin] [Wink] [Razz]
