It can be, but it appears to have at least one definition which is not a proper noun and is acceptable for Scrabble.

wand -> wadd

As in black wadd

derbyshire tea

I can't believe wiki doesn't have an article on black wadd. ( I then typed this in a search engine and got black porn adds)

well if sadd is good then my word is madd (mothers against drunk driving) I am not sure if they are acceptable words for scrabble being abbreiviations. But spoken abb. like scuba are so I don't know. If sadd and madd are not ok then we are still on wadd.

From the original post:
5. No words unfit for Scrabble (i.e. proper names etc.)

Scrabble doesn't allow acronyms, therefor SADD and MADD are not allowable, so we're still on wadd.

Or would be... wadd->wads

Umm, "nads" is slang for "gonads" last I checked, and thus isn't a valid Scrabble word. Xanthine's entry of "pads" does follow after "wads" so it's not a big deal.

pads -> padi

(It's in Websters as a variant of "paddy," as in "rice paddy.")
