Roux is still accepted as an english word, so sorry to the French chefs because the English dictionary (and Scrabble Bible) are the final authorities around here. Anyway *waits for the next page so that I can post another word*

I wasn't challenging your word. I was just commenting that it's more common than what it appears you think it is. Heck, anyone who watches Martha Stewart should know roux, creme fraiche, pate, clarified butter, etc.!
