Hi everyone,
This is my first post to the forums after loserishly hanging around and reading posts for some time. So, I have finally decided to become a full-fledged member and do my best to contribute. Guess I am supposed to say something about myself, hmmÖ

I am a math nerd turned computational/structural biology first year grad student on my way to getting my PhD. I love programming, recently picked up Perl, but I still get turned on by a nice differential equation every now and then. I am also an artist and mainly do painting and drawing but also have a new-found obsession with screwing around with photoshop. This sure is sounding like a personal ad. But, amazingly, I am not here to ask how to find geek-love. My bf, Orpheus, is also a GC member and tuned me in to this site.

Thatís about it. Iíll leave the floor open for any questions. Oh yeah, and nice to meet all of you, finally.

Say, you're not realated to the world famous bicycle seat tester, Maia Certs, are you?

Just wondering.

Maybe she's also related to the My Aspirins family?

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. [Smile]

It's been a week since my first post, and I must say my wasted internet time (when I should be working on research) has been much improved.

And, no, I am not related to any Certs or Aspirins, but my dog's name is Bear (think Bayer), and he once ate an entire bottle of Advil (he's ok now). Weird, huh?

Oh, yeah, and I would love some of those pretty stars under my name, too. [Wink]
