I've been posting on boards, including one of my own, for years now and I've never been able to come up with the subject for a new topic to save my life, lol.

Well, I'm new here. I pretty much stumbled across this board searching google for random stuff attempting to find something to do, and I like the board quite a bit from what I've read.

Basics about me? hmmm, I'm 20, male, I got my nick from Final Fantasy 7, I love computers, programming, web design, video games, especially good RPG's, and anything else remotely related to being a geek [Smile] .

*wonders if he'll meet anyone here who can possibly be as geeky as self*

I'm a bit confused myself - I don't understand why people warn newcomers about spungo and Zorro. Oh well, I guess their posts have never really thrown me. Some people might gag upon reading Zorro's posts, but he really has to be in rare form to do that these days. Lately, he's bound to just kindly welcome people. And spungo, well, he's just a bit sheepish about welcoming newbies, but a fine bloke [Smile] . The one you really have to watch out for is maswan - you never know what those Swedish geeks are up to...all that cooking he does, and chilling out naked in saunas [I hear that he's been known to "SEND HOT PIX!!1!"] - he's something of an enigma. I've also heard rumors that he controls a cluster of machines running this newfangled system called Linux - when penguins get together in Sweden, you know it's time to be afraid...

Trying to de-lurk The Lord of the Root? Be careful, or he might hack the IRC stats so you say something nasty. [Wink]

Could it top what you and I sort of ended up having ours changed to the penultimate time? [Wink]

I like maswan and think he ought not surface. It adds to his mystique. [Wink]

Actually, he's the only guy I know who can dress like a Hobbit in real life and look just about right doing it. Quite pleasant, amused with the world, etc. Plus, he looks like someone I used to have a huge crush on in college, which doesn't hurt.

Maswan's one of the best reasons to chance IRC. Very mellow, amazinly intuitive and intelligent, and has already offered me (and I'm sure Wintersoltice) a couple meters of floor if we're ever up that way.

I can just about guarantee he won't de-lurk here. It's like getting Punxatawney Phil to declare winter's coming early (the season, not the husband! [Big Grin] ). If it happens, it would be a complete and total surprise. It seems rare enough to get him to de-lurk on IRC.

I hope, for your sake Jess, that Winter isn't prone to coming early.

Sorry, the set-up was there, I could not resist...

I agree, maswan's a great guy. I mean really, how many men (and women, come to think of it) do you know who can bake a cake from scratch?

When asked if I like to cook, I respond by saying, "I like to eat." People usually get the inferrence. I rarely make desserts these days, and when I do, they come from a box. I still make my own cookies from scratch. That doesn't mean I can't crack open a cookbook and read instructions. I like to make crepes, which is dessert-esque. I have some pretty solid dinner recipes that take about 30 minutes to make (not just spaghetti or mac & cheese).

Whoops, I glossed over the parenthesized part there, or perhaps it was an edit. I was starting to wonder - where the hell did Xanthine take that from? Did some of my posting style of late get transferred to her? [Wink]

Let all parties consider themselves lucky that I can't thing of any good groundhog analogies/jokes at the moment [Razz] . /me runs off to troubleshoot a likely id10t error...

I do occasionally post, Jess. A couple of times each year, usually.

And I'm usually easy to delurk on irc if I'm awake and you stay around for some minutes after saying my nick so I'll look at the window and see the hilight.
