For ages, scientists have asked the question "will it blend?" Today, we have the answer .

My favorite is the marbles.

FWIW, the microwave demonstrations on braniac are often "helped along" with explosives. I can't remember where I read this, but there have been some fairly questionable explosions I've seen. When they used liquid nitrogen my skepticism was first aroused.

Anyway, you can put pretty much anything in a microwave (as long as it is small) - the problem would be taking it out afterwards.

I want to try a big block of alumina. It has a phenomenon called "runaway heating" which means that after a certain point (electrons excited to the valence band) it heats more rapidly as it becomes hotter. It then generally melts through your microwave.

If you watch 'The History Of NASA' backwards, it's about a space agency that has no manned spaceflight capability, then does low-orbit flights, then lands on the Moon.

I wish I had something I needed to blend, cause I want one of those blenders.

In the intro to each video, it looks like one of the upcoming ones is a crowbar?? Surely not...

cool link, But the shredding of the computer circuit boards confuses me. This is not how one disposes of or recycles cicuit boards. It is much easier to remove the dangerous trace metals from the boards before you shred the boards by desoldering them.
