Here is version 1 of our mousetrap car.

It only goes 7 feet, so we are going for a redesign tomorrow...

The basic rules, as I understand them:

1) It must travel at least 9 ft on its own power

2) It must be powered only by a single standard-size mousetrap.

The rest seems to be a lesson in physics...

How is the redesign going? Does it go nine feet yet?

Pretty good... the competition is tomorrow...

Moved the mousetrap up on top which allowed for a lever about twice the length... and a coordinating distance...

You will have to post the results. Hopefully it will redeem the pine box derby embarrasment.

Excuse me now, I need to go put on my mousetrap car cheerleader outfit (aka Rednivek fan club tshirt) to show support.

The mousetrap car went 5 meters!

I am putting the Quicktime movie into a new thread.
