I guess this is only for those of us Geeks in the US. In case ya'll didn't notice, daylight saving time ended this weekend. So, how did you spend that blessed extra hour?

Me? I was out with my friends. I quite rather enjoyed the hour. [Big Grin]

IS there any other way to spend ANY extra time than by sleeping? Really? I refuse to believe it. Sleep is the only worthwile thing to do with extra hours and minutes. Ah, sleep. To bed, to sleep, perchance to dream. *dozes off*

I too was awake, trying to work up the energy to get off my butt, shower, and go to bed.

Well, first, I went all out this year and set my clock back 12 hours, not just a wimpy one. I mean if there really is a daylight shortage, and setting back the clock helps us save precious daylight (that's why it's called "daylight savings time", right?) then why scrimp on the postage? I always try to do my part for the environment.

I spent my extra hour pondering the insignificant arrogance of humanity and their puny attempts to manipulate time. That lasted about 30 seconds - then I just started playing warcraft III.

Okey dokey then.

People always misunderstand that. We're not attempting to manipulate time. We're manipulating our *perception* of time. And humanity has been into manipulating our perception of things since the discovery of alcohol [Smile]

nah, daylight savings time is international. it changes in all countries all over the world (well, maybe not in all but in all that are infected by the euroamerican=western timescheme).

so well, i spent more than one extra hour (hey, sounds like some kinda bonus) to watch all of my world-clocks change... yay, 23 extra hours! (but as the story goes, i fell asleep during israel and syria... [Frown] )

Unfortunately for me, little redheads, like dairy cows, don't care what the clock says, and want attention at the same time of day no matter what the clock says.

I've never understood why dairy farmers don't milk their cows at the same time UCT winter or summer and ignore what the wall-clock says, but I guess they're as much slaves to the local clock as everyone else. It's a pity--the cows would be happier if they got milked at the same time all year round.
