On the subject of Logan's Run (as adapted into Wil Wheaton's Run for today's JoT...)

There are some indications that Logan's Run is going to get remade, with a script that sticks closer to the original novel (including death at 21, rather than 30 as in the existing movie). William F. Nolan's official home page has some details. Skip Woods will write and direct the picture; Joel Silver will produce it for Warner Brothers. No word on cast or start date (though one rumor has Leonardo DiCaprio being considered for the role of Logan).

You know, all kidding aside, I would definitely prefer Wil to Leo for that role. To hell with Leo DiCaprio; Wil is fifty times cooler. Plus Wil's website has permanently fixed the image in my head of Wil playing laser tag for his 30th birthday surprise party (how fucking cool is that?)

The key is, would Wil look young enough for the part? Remember, we're talking death at 21 here...and Logan is just under 21 (as he notices his palmflower blinking just after the hunt for Doyle 10, indicating he's now on Lastday). To cast most of the movie, they'd probably have to get the type of actors they have on Dawson's Creek or those Teen NBC programs on Saturday mornings...

If Wil could look no older than he looked when he played Wesley Crusher (say, circa season 4 TNG), he might be able to pull it off. I have no doubt he'd enjoy the scenes in the glasshouse.

Now...who would you cast opposite him as Jessica? Keep in mind, the two of them have to have good chemistry to pull the movie off...one of the standout elements of the original movie was the great chemistry between Michael York and Jenny Agutter. Also, casting the role of Francis will be important (exactly how important I don't want to say, in case it would be a spoiler for people who haven't read the book).
