Climbing gear. Or good sci-fi.
One of those squirt bottle they have in lab to clean benchtops would be nice too. Preferably one that is labeled for something other than distilled/deionized water so I can scare people...

I have a looooong list. In fact, it might be easier if I were to just receive a winning $10 million lottery ticket and work out the finer points on my own . . .

I'm going to receive exactly what I asked for this christma$.....NOTHING.

I told the family that I wouldn't be participating in christma$ as I was going skiing. It is going to be so great, no whinny kids telling me that i'm a cheap f**ker for not getting them the expensive gift they wanted, no arguing relatives fueled by excessive alcohol, sigh how i'll miss that. NOT!!!

Actually I will be getting something that I want for christma$. My cousin lives/works at the Big White ski resort in Kelowna B.C., and he is getting me free lift tickets for three or four days. Plus, I don't have to pay for a hotel because he lives in a trailer in the ski town there.

I can't wait to leave, I finish my exams on the 17th and I leave on the 24th. The only skiing I will have to pay for is at any resort that I stop at on the way to/from Big White. If I drive one way there are two resorts and the other way has six.

Yehaaa, the only thing limiting me is time, I think classes start back up on Jan 7, but i'm not to sure. Money is also a limiting factor on this trip, as I don't want to use up all my student loans yet. Gotta save some for spring skiing.

i don't ask for stuff that i want, i ask for things i need and am too lazy/cheap to go find for myself:

+ one new walkman to replace the old one that died
+ one pair of straight-cut black pants
+ one box of 10 black ballpoint pens
+ a dozen blank cd-r for illegal copies of vnv nation/jj72/the cure/sisters of mercy/morrissey albums
+ socks and underwear

...shopping is hell for people who don't know what to get me.

The only thing I asked for this year is a Garmin eTrex Legend, which I should get since I asked myself for it, said yes and ordered it a few days ago.

I have recieved one early gift that I didn't ask for which I think I'll enjoy. It's the Easy Origami Fold-a-Day calendar. The sheets are origami paper and each day gives you a new origami project that you can make with the previous day's page.

Gosh, I got a whole box of climbing gear just sitting in the garage. Its too bad that there isn't any good climbing in the Olympic Mountains. I can't wait to get out and use it. Living out of the car was much easier...

Here's what I want:
A Delta Thickness Planer
A DeWalt biscuit joiner
A Dagger Aftershock (whitewater c-1)
An airport compatible computer.

I rarely have any idea what I want, but since it's being asked, I could go for some good anime or sci-fi stuff.

What I wouldn't mind is for my SO to not be a few hundred miles away at the time. Failing that, I'm always a sucker for sci-fi books (the older the better).

Dear Santa:

I would like

- my project to work on all versions or windows with all versions of IE and AOL without ever crashing.

- to sit down with a bottle of Scotch and my old college roomates who I havn't seen in 20 years

- to be a 10 handicap

Sadly, I don't think I will find any of these under the tree.

This is not the season for it. Especially on the wet side of the Cascades. It's snowy just about everywhere with any sort of elevation by now, but if you take the ferry and drive east and/or north, you'll find good climbing. Ice at Baker. Rock is at Leavenworth (but they're kinda bithcy about access I hear), Mt. Index, Mt. Si, Little Mt. Si, Washington Pass, Forbidden Peak, and probably a zillion other spots I don't know about due to lack of experience and gear. General moutaineering is all up and down the range. North Cascades National Park has some goodies I need to try, and of course there's the ones everyone's heard of like Adams, Ranier, St. Helen's and Baker. Maybe because they've all blown up or are supposed to blow up soon...

Yes, I will return that e-mail sometime before I go home!

A 94 RX-7 Turbo.
The 3rd generation RX-7's oozed sex appeal.

Short of that I want a new CD-Rom ... I keep killing mine when I try to e-mail food.

--------------
I tried to e-mail a cheesecake to my mom, but it got all smooshed in the CD-Rom.

My list is mostly online at half.com - mostly cds and dvds and books. The rest is clothes to replace what wore out this year.

What I really want is:

Powerful PC laptop.
iBook
G4
Another powerful desktop PC for *nix
and uhm... more memory

None of that will come from my wife (who is jealous of Squish) or my parents (for while my dad is a geek, my mom is jealous of HIS computer and won't further the trend with her son), so I don't bother listing it anymore.

What I would like:
A Harley-Davidson Low-Rider.
A date with that nice Irish girl who works at the Korean mission.
A girlfriend (see above).

I want an Apple-branded PDA.

Listen up, Steve-o:

200mhz Motorola processor
64MB internal RAM
PC card slot for storage/expansion cards (Airport)
Pocket MacOS X
COLOR screen with 24bit color
Native Mac synchronization, sincer Palm can't seem to get their act together with X..or anything else for that matter (it seems)

Is that too much to ask??!!
