Well I no longer work at Nicholls State University. After 12 years of night work, I have taken a position with a supermarket chain fixing hardware, software and networking problems in their stores and corporate office. I will also go to new stores and help them set up all their registers, servers and manager's computers. I am making quite a bit more money [thumbsup] , I get a company car [thumbsup] , a gas card [thumbsup] , a laptop [thumbsup] with Vista [thumbsdown] [ohwell] , a Verizon modem for said laptop [thumbsup] , and a Palm Treo. [thumbsup] I keep thinking I am going to wake up and this will all be just a dream. The funny part is that the job practically fell into my lap because I went and applied there on a whim not expecting anything to come of it. This is one of those times things just went my way.

Congrats!

And from my experience, some of the greatest jobs are the ones that come unexpectedly. Enjoy your new responsibilities!

The Doctor can seldom predict when he will regenerate, so perhaps you should not be so surprised. [Wink] I add my own Mag Val to Skylar's, well done Doctor!

I wonder if your and Oz's optimistic new beginnings are part of the the positivity that Obama's victory has spread around the globe?

Congrats...enjoy the job!

...and all the responsibilities that come with it. :/
(Sorry...it sounds very cool, but I know I wouldn't love being tied to their leash.)

There's not much good news about ATM, so I will gladly celebrate yours. I hope that the future lives up to your expectations. [Smile]

_____________________ DoctorWho PS to the GPS thread. Remember that at any time the military can shut off the civilian part of the GPS system, During the start of the bombing in Bosnia and during Shock & Awe the system was turned off to prevent the foe from using the system. During the Bosnia bombing a lot of fishermen out on Saginaw Bay lost their GPS units for about two days during a fishing tourament, hope they had compasses.

Congratulations Dr. Who.

One piece of advice on any job where you are making a lot more money -- pay yourself first. Save a chunk of it because it won't be missed.

Enjoy the new job!
