Yup, 'fraid so.

You've got to start slow, leave that kind of talk until after the wedding.
I believe it's traditional to start with buying the lady a drink.

Marrying a 17 year old in my country would cause big problems with some... um... er... laws. Plus my wife would probably have some issues with it. But what a wonderfully magnaminous offer. Who could resist a proposal over a forum? No questions asked! Sight unseen! Beautiful. Gorgeous. The flood gates of my tear ducts begin to open. Take cover. [weep]

Marriage in the U.S. is legal for someone under 17 as long as they have parental consent or something like that. Maybe 17 is even old enough not to have parental consent. Age of consent laws are the best, or else I would technically be a pedophile...

Didn't Macauley Culkin get married when he was 16? Of course, he was divorced by the time he hit 20.

Depends on the state. In some states you can get married as young as 12 with parental consent, in others it's 16. There is at least one state where you are a legal adult at 16 1/2 so you wouldn't need permission, and one state where you aren't a legal adult until 19. Also in CA, even if the younger partner is 16 (age of consent) you still can't have sex with them if you are more than three years older.

The thought of marriage is enticing, but I'd prefer to marry a man between the ages of 23 and 40. (Exception will be made for certain 18- and 22-year-old men.)

So which 18 -22 year old women are you interested in marrying? [evil]

( not that there's anything wrong with that... )

If you are as cute as your emptor count me in for engagement if not marr....!

The one Woman who married me now says she has always hated me for the last 27 years.

I would hate for someone as cute as you to end up hating me in another 20 years or so.

Write me back and we can make all the necessary arrangements for our engagement.
I can give you everything but a date to get hitched. With my current mental state my fingers would shake too much to type the word marr....! By the way I make three times my teaching salary working with pizza delivery, so money will not be a problem when we hook up.

Write me back maybe we can just be buddies to start!

I am 40 something, rich, cute, polite, intelligent, and I don't quite look my age. I can beat your 22 year-old boy friends at 100 meters or the mile.
Will you make an exception and consider marrying me; instead of the average 22-25 year old male. I am already well trained which would save you alot of time.
Or will you continue to discriminate against me just because I am an OLD FART?

Not because of your age that no one really wishes to give you the time of day.

But more for the fact that you appear to be an unstable loon that is trolling message board for tail.

I think the legal age to marry here is 18, but the legal age to have consentual sex is 14 unless the older party is in a position of authority, then the age of consent becomes 18.

I don't think marriage is quite the first thing you ask about when you are looking for someone. It tends to scare them off.

I'm curious, can you actually be charged for having sex? What is the penalty if it's both consentual?

Hey, I'm 17, female, and unmarried too!

We should snoop around on internet forums and look for future husbands together.
