As if there weren't enough already.

I went to moviefone.com today with Firefox and tried to open the preview for "March of the Penguins". And what happened? A little box popped up and said "This feature not supported with Firefox". ARGH! I thought, thinking that some lame web developer just cut some corners to make extra $$$$$. But when I opened IE and clicked on the preview, what's the FIRST THING I saw?!?!?!?!? A big lovely graphic that read "THIS PREVIEW BROUGHT TO YOU BY WINDOWS XP"!!!

Now THERE's a reason to vomit. Who loses in the browser wars? The users. BLAH!!!! [Mad]

Thus endeth the rant.

Please respect that a company wants to make profit.
We aren't in the old days of communism anymore.

But I do believe that it's not too nice to "punish" the user.

I use whichever browser is more supported- which definitely is Internet Explorer, and it's a nice programm too.
I see no use and sense in using the browser that is not supported, or just a bit, just to have a different browser..

Anyways- just use IE *g*

To try to deviate this from an utterly pointless debate (See laptop thread), may I instead, in complete John Marshall style, comment instead on a side matter which seems to make this all moot. Apple hosts almost every movie trailer in quicktime format, including the penguin movie. Many are full screen, and there are pretty much no ads.

You can also go to http://www.pixar.com and view some of the shorts that they have made in the past as well as the trailers for a lot of great animated movies.

Tom-... You must be shitting me, right? There is no good reason to use IE - standard web pages should work on *any* browser.
