Why not?
(I'm beginning to think that was our government's entire rationale, too. "Why not?" isn't an acceptable objective for a war, and it shows.)

An excuse? Why do they need an excuse, the American military was as justified as the Allies were for going into Nazi Germany. The government killed citizens of the country in mass genocides, invaded neighboring states, denyed its own people fundamental human rights, and posed at threat to regional and world stabiltiy.
