Well... I am upgrading my server from a Compaq 4090US (Overhauled and psudo-rebuilt making it now for sale) to a rebuilt rig that pushies the speed... the problem is that the darn thing will not try and turn over (it is acting like the 300W known good Enlight Power Supply is under powered. ...crap never mind it was a shorted out floppy drive... got nine different ones to pick from though so... oh well.

I had the same thing on an IBM server - in the end I just went floppy-less*. I mean, who needs that stuff now anyway? I have a USB floppy for those retro moments but I've thrown out my supply of blank floppies. Nowadays you don't even need them for BIOS do you?

And they make rubbish coasters - not nearly absorbent enough . . .

*That's like going "Commando" for servers . .

Depends on your computer. We have some old, slow Dell Optiplex GX150s that flash the BIOS through a Windows applications. And then the newer, faster, Dell Optiplex GX240s that want to use floppies! If Dell has a Windows version of the 240 BIOS, I haven't been able to find it yet.
