I'm not even going to post the other results 'cause they're all about the same... all embarrassing. I'm curious, though, how much my wireless connection slows me down. If I weren't so lazy, I s'pose I could find a cable and plug into my modem to test it.

Not bad for a home connection on the POTS (Plain Ordinary Telephone System).

Any bets on who's got the fastest? My money is on Maswan (although I'd be interested to see the speed I get from the London one when I'm at uni... some servers are connected to this weird educational network, and from them speeds can be amazing.)

Ooh... I've got the lowest ping so far though. [Smile]

I win at the upload speed (Uni network) I'm surprised that the download speed isn't higher.

Yeah, but you are really close to the server you are pinging, so the electrons don't get tired. [Wink]

Yes, but I've pulled down 62 Mbits before, so 25 is really underselling it. [Wink]

Damn, don't Speedtest have HTML and UBBcode to copy and paste?! (Earlier, half the images flat out failed to load at all)

Upstream for me is approximately 50 kbytes/sec, that's all I care about [Smile] (Downstream is apparently Mbit but 2 was more than I needed already.) Not wonderful, but ah, it only used to be 16 before. Much faster now.

Sitting on a somewhat heavily used DS3 here at work. I'm a bit surprised it tested that high this time of day.

Yes, they have BBCode - maybe you're running borked copy of Flash? It's somewhere in the drop down on the right of the historical reports.

I didn't bother with the site, I read off figures from the Windows performance monitor and my FTP server's speed readout (if that's the only program running).

No, I meant, everyone's posting images ...

Which reminds me, I wonder whether any forum supports this:

[img 300 135]URL[/img]

Generically:

[img (width (height ("alt" (border))))]URL[/img]

UBB itself should call getimagesize() on all of its in-built images so that it can pre-populate all the tags. But it would be cool if img was extended :) And if we could escape tags more easily...

It's time for BBcode (AND wiki code) to be more intelligent and support accessibility and efficient rendering.

That would make more of a performance increase than a faster Net connection since you'd not be wasting time trying to figure out what the fsck the page should look like ...

Fairly disappointing for a tech company's pipe. Maybe it's the time of day. I'll have to try from home later.

I guess this is okay. At home, using cable. Tested on my G5 over 802.11g. Upload is capped at 500.

Oh, I'm new. Hello everyone!
