It is things like this that remind me that there is hope for humankind, after all. This may be a stupid activity from a health and safety viewpoint - but what sheer, unadulterated joy of living these people exhibit. [Big Grin] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause]

Mad, and yet strangely intriguing...

How many have not dreamed of being carried aloft by such childhood dreamlike means?

I certainly have.

It looks a bit scary, though. I guess once you're on the way down, there's no way of increasing your height.

You're NUTS! I can understand flying from a mountain top with a sheet strung up with a couple poles, I can even concieve jumping out of a perfectly good airplane with a sheet tied to your back but never, no in my life nor yours, will I EVER even consider this to be sane!

EDIT: and I certainly have never dreamed of being carried away by ballons.

EDIT: EDIT: UGH! Retarded! FSCKING RETARDED! It's stupid stuff like this that makes me not want to have children. Stuff like this that makes me want to go around and throat punch everyone who is even somewhat related with this!

Sure there is. He even mentions it on the site. He carries extra weight in the form of sandbags, and drops some if he needs to slow descent or rise again. Obviously, there is a limit, since you can't add lift as in the case of hot air balloons, but this guy clearly has a lot of experience with this kind of flight.

It's a little crazy and dangerous, but still pretty cool.

Jeez, imagine how squeeky your voice can get, and how long it would last, with all that industrial grade helium...

I'm jealous
