____ TheMoMan here. Okay I am sure all of you have heard of Goooogles Chrome, OS and Browser, any thoughts, will it be tighter than Internet Exploder?

____ Would the Linux version have a high overhead or run on spartan older gear?

____ Is this really a threat to Winblows?

I compiled and ran Chromium OS in VirtualBox. The boot-up is freaking fast! It basically asks you for your Google account and you're right into your mail. I haven't figured out how to use actual applications, though [Frown] The keystrokes are not responding as they should.

MoMan,

I think Chrome OS is supposed to be net-centric. It may not work out so well with your dial up. Just something to think about.

____ CS, Yeah I knew that but was willing to bog down their service to find out what it looked like, and if it could load faster than a snail with a broken pod.

The only compilation options at the moment is creating an USB drive image or a VMWare image.

Some results from The Pirate Bay: http://thepiratebay.org/search/chromium%20OS/0/99/0

Since they're no warez, you may use any of them.

Building instructions: http://www.chromium.org/chromium-os/building-chromium-os
