First off, what's with the "tried" to hack the election with an Influence Campaign? If they were "trying" and to get Trump elected, and he won, then they succeeded! They used social engineering did they not? [shake head]

From my perspective probing and finding out that each State has it's own way of reporting results and that many precincts in Mi. still use paper ballots. How do you hack that? Then the results are phoned into Lansing with Lansing making the call to each county for their results.

As to contacts between Moscow and the RNC or Trumps people that may have happened .

As too the question of the DNC learning anything from the Hillary debacle it appears that they did not.

There you have my two Cents.

Good points!
I didn't think those signs:
Love
Trumps
Hate
Were a great idea because when short people held up the sign it read "Love Trump" and it also read "Love his hate" Visuals are super important. Also:
Make America
Great Again
Doesn't have these visual issues.

Also those crazy faces Hillary kept making, very cringe-worthy [blush]

Nitro, I was faced with a catch-22 vote for someone I did not want to win, or vote for someone I did not want to win. Trump/Hillary both were disgusting choices, I was tempted to write in Bernie Sanders instead I voted for the libertarian from Az. At least he was on the ballot here in Mi.

However I see many parallels to RM Nixon, I do not think Trump would allow himself to be Impeached, however he does show the same distrust with the news outlets.

MoMan, I was thinking about how times have changed since the Republican's McCarthy era, mostly, WTF?! How could the republicans have changed their view on Russia like this!? I realized that the only things consistent with the Republicans since the cold war is a hatred of the media (Nixon), scientists (Einstein was denounced as a commie) and Hollywood (aka Liberals). This thing that is happening with the republicans allowing a cozying up to Russia, is just mind boggling.

What made you not want to vote for Hillary? Was it the FBI investigation into emails Anthony Weiner's laptop? Or elitism?

WHY She did not act like she would be the peoples Pres. Too entitled, it's my turn Obama got in and I didn't now Bernie is trying to do the same thing.

Russia has oil lots of oil.

You brought up Macarthyism, back when I enrolled at Michigan Tech I had to sign that I was not or had never been a socialist to take classes that involved the schools Fermi pile.

Then once in the USN I had to sign NDAs and again Macarthy type pledges

I think Bernie would have had a better chance to beat Trump. That's interesting you had to sign McCarthy docs.

I had to sign the same thing when entering Merkinistan as a tourist in the early 90s.

TFD, Nitro, More back-story, I enrolled at Michigan Tech in the Fall of 1964. The professors were still signing Non Dis and not a Fascist, Nazi, Soviet, supporter or member until 1968.

I had then signed up for a class, Nuclear Chemistry which would mean I would be using as a part of class work a Fermi style II pile. A close relative of the original Fermi Reactor.

I never was able to drive that sucker over Ten Percent of available reaction.

So thus I had to sign all of those releases...
Uncle Sam's Navy had many more NDAs and actually tracked some of us.

From memory, I had to swear I wasn't a communist, nazi war criminal, drug dealer, or terrorist just to enter the country as a tourist.

Makes me wonder how the 9/11 terrorists got in.

I am sure that every one has heard about the tweet read around the world. If this is a FISA court tap he cannot and will not be informed of it's presence or it's outcome unless someone is arrested and put in jail then it will be a sealed verdict.

Within the last fifteen minutes this wiki appeared on Google news:

Seems that someone believes that vadamir wanted to discredit Mrs Clinton.

MoMan, that's super interesting about the famous tweet and the FISA court! Now he's got a congress investigation, hopefully to tie up resources so they'll slow down on the Russian ties investigation. He wanted to change the news cycle, maybe it'll backfire. Also, holy cow I didn't know you were a nuclear scientist! Whoa! Impressive [Applause]

According to this book, Wikileaks is a major, major part of this Russian hack. Then today: Wikileaks Vault 7 tweet Do you think Richard Stallman works with Assange? Back in the AY2K days, I talked to him on the phone once, and he was very nice, and gotta a kick out of starring in an AY2K, I think. [Smile] OMG, that was almost 20 years ago! [Eek!]

Dragonman, Druid, apparently it's going to get worser I think this is going to affect your tourism economy, crossing the border is going to be worse than checkpoint charlie! [cry baby]

I would not call it nuclear science, but chemistry we used the Fermi pile as a giant Microwave using protons instead of radio waves to heat our samples.

Nitrozac - eek! I hate the scanners, but grudgingly go through them. I went out with a girl who wouldn't, and wow...the 'opt-out' is chaotic in a busy line. (I don't think they were bad to her...but getting someone to do the pat down was time-consuming.)

I bit the bullet and signed up for Global Entry. The price is fairly low and may make traveling easier (esp. the horrible immigration/customs lines on the way back). I hate the fingerprinting and background check stuff, but I'm hoping it'll be worth it.

MoMan, Nuclear Chemist! Awesome! Are you going to the Science March? We'd love to go, probably here in Canada tho.

Dragonman, that's a good idea to do the Global Entry, I'll check into that. We actually don't travel much, but it would be nice to see the solar eclipse coming up. There's also the travel visa that might help ensure being let in. Khizr Khan is having travel troubles, strangely. [shake head]

Yep, rms is tight with Assange and Snowden. oh dear.
 - It's funny, when I talked to rms he was telling me to call Linux "GnuLinux", sort of insistent on that, as I recall, which is so rms. heh
