OPENING DAY of Michiganís fire arms deer season. We have posted our property, harvested and tilled. In a little less than an hour, 1/4 million hunters will be ready for the first shot.

Well the first shots were fired about fifteen minutes early. The State says that the deer season adds about 1.23 million to the economy.

thats alot of drunk people wandering the woods with loaded weapons looking to kill.

anyways just south of michigan Indiana has the problem that there are no longer any predators of deer. Not enough people want to hunt in indiana any more and it has been a long time since there were any large predators. With leaves the deer population with only decease and starvation as a control, which is less than desireable.

Follow up, This evening, when we returned from getting Lottery tickets and some groceries we saw a small group of deer in our South half, as near as we could tell there were six or more, ir is hard to count deer by just seeing their green eyes as they move around in a field. So I guess that the hordes of hunters did not get them all.
