Found out about the whole thing when I woke up Friday morning. AFAIK, no one I know was even there. One of my coworkers almost went to that showing though...
I imagine everyone down at the Anschutz campus is thoroughly rattled right about now.

One article I saw called it something like "the worst mass shooting incident in Colorado since Columbine". Must be there are mass shootings in Colorado every day, just not usually this bad ![[shake head]](graemlins/shakehead.gif)
But in all seriousness, this is a sad, sad thing. I can't imagine what would drive someone to do this.

I'm not sure we've had any since Columbine...
One of my coworkers thinks he's seen the shooter up on our campus. The guy has a sort of generic face, so he probably didn't. OTOH, the guy was a first year grad student so it's possible he came up to Boulder for a lab rotation or a seminar.
Apparently they had two bomb scares at the Aurora campus today. Kinda glad I don't work down there.

Is it or was it Fate?
The young lady was in the food court in Toronto and left just before the shooting started. She was in the theatre in CO and was killed.
Did any one else notice this ODD COINCIDENCE?

A fscking nutter killed people. That can't actually be stopped or predicted. It was just unfortunate for her, but a coincidence...bah. (That, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster was taking a siesta.)
