Even with 'trained professionals' fireworks are pretty dodgy. Here in Melbourne, we nearly burned down the Arts Centre last NYE - I worked on the lighting system for that tower, so I'm glad they got the fire out in time to save it.
Oh, and some years ago, another fireworks blunder took out about 1/4 of the seats at the tennis centre.

And therein is why I fear fly/drive-by-wire systems.
Someone does not have time to shut it off and reboot. Hoping to clear the fault.
That WACO I and the Grandson rode in had fly-by-wire, called flying cable it was under tension not conducting electrons.
