Oh. I hadn't thought about infection.

I diverged at the point where he started talking about sustainability.

It's one thing to grow funny shaped bits of muscle or skin around a form in a lab. When you start introducing the structural elements like bones, or features like sphincter doors and windows that open and close in response to stimuli, you've just created a honking big organism that needs to be fed and maintained, and will continually produce waste products as a function of its continued existence.

(Also, to do the things he talks about, it would require at least a rudimentary sort of nervous system.)

It's the opposite of sustainable. It would be the SUV of houses.

I hadn't thought about infection either. My first thought was "every stray dog and cat for miles around would be well fed, at least"
