____ So did either of you feel the effects, and was it scary.

I am all right, no worry.

It started out as if a big truck was passing by. Really big truck, mind you, and quite fast - you know the feeling.

And then it got worse: I felt jumping up and down in my chair, and it wouldn't stop.

People evacuated the other buildings of the campus, but there were no alarm siren going on, so I took a minute to check the security rules in case of an earthquake. As expected, no need to evacuate if not told so. So I stayed and tried to reach the Natural Resources site for info. But they were swamped and the best they could do was, half an hour after the quake, put up a blank page with one line, stating the basic information they had. Lame, but I guess those events are so rare, their network guys never assumed it would have to handle such traffic.

The crazy thing is, the US equivalent had some data out way quicker. They turned out a bit wrong, but they had some.

Well, it made for a lot of talk! [Big Grin]

(A small tornado in the Toronto area actually caused more damage and woundeds. I'll have to dig out an English link...)

____ Well, I am unsure of the time, only that it was yesterday. I had arisen from my comp. chair and had walked to the kitchen. At that time I thought my Gyros were off, now for people on high blood pressure meds this feeling is not uncommon. So I may have noticed the feeling but dismissed it from past experiences.

I did not feel it, but if I did I probably just thought it was a passing train. They shake our apartment complex quite often.

About 12 years ago I felt one when I was working in Troy, MI. It felt like a truck slammed into our building. I think that one was centered in PA if I recall.
