This makes me sad. Also because I skipped the opportunity to see him live a few years ago.

He was always funny. He did seem to get madder after he stopped being a stoner. [Wink] He never lost his edge though. I watched his last special for HBO, and it was amazing how well attunded he was to human behavior. He always said the things out loud that we think in our head.

Dude was my hero. Seriously. The guy was brilliant, and funny as all hell about it. I can recite almost every last one of his bits verbatim.

He was fantastic, and I'm happy as hell I got to see him a few years back in London. (Ontario)

I hope he got his two-minute warning.

A Message by George Carlin:

edited since this wasn't written by George Carlin, in fact he called it a "sappy load of shit".

George Carlin didn't write that.

The #1 way to tell is the line about 'praying'. George Carlin was quite the athiest.

And I quote (verbatim) from one of his bits:

"Christian, which I was, until I reached the age of reason."

He then goes on to tear religion in general apart.

Some friends and I drove up to Cleveland to see him in the late 1970s. On the way home we had to pull over several times, because we were laughing too hard to drive.
