The sponsored link on gmail this morning was this: http://www.safebanana.com/

What I want to know is, is this for real? Is this an authentic product or is it just a spoof/joke? I can't imagine one case fitting all bananas. Plus, their logic is slightly faulty: bananas tend to bruise first on the outside and their skin looks bad, but underneath they're still good to eat. (When they're too far gone, it's time to make banana cake!)

I have seen them in stores. Yes it is true.

It's real. A friend of mine has one, and extols it's virtues every time we're having lunch in the field.

I have a friend who has some banana armour. You can get all sorts of specialised packing cases for snacks. I remember seeing somthing for cupcakes a while back.

Great idea. And the case is shaped to reach the G-spot.

I've heard it doesn't work as well as it looks like it should for that purpose. Still good at keeping your banana firm though. (I set them up...)

Wow, um, banana is not the first thing I think of when I look at those. [Eek!]

My banana is well protected thank you very much [Razz]
That stuff is very over the top, but I've seen so many megalomaniacs running free lately, so I suppose it's selling pretty well.
