Noticeably, the women depicted wear either a dress or a bathsuit. The dress is preferably red, with a large proportion being either with spagetti straps or with nude shoulder. And watch for that cleavage.

So, tell me guys, do men secretly consider themselves as monsters able to submit a girl by their only strenght? 'Cause if you rather see yourself as the saviour of the lady, wouldn't a pruder girl (with cloths half torns apart by the monster, of course) be more exciting?

Anyone wants to make a sociology thesis on the subject? [Wink]

Maybe these images do not represent men's subconcious desire to dominate women. Perhaps the images are an allegory of 1950's America's fear of communism. [Wink]

The count dracula one makes me rawr [Wink]

Has anyone considered that most of these movies/posters are set in times without widespread ownership of cars?

Hand carrying women may have been the most effective means of transportation for monsters in those days.

Besides, it is also interesting that all these are from fantasy texts - since in reality it is women who are the monsters [devil wand]
