So a couple cool things. Apple has upgraded their PowerMacs and they are kickin! Now for even geekier stuff. Apple has updated their sites to automatically total prices on computers. For example if you decide to upgrade the harddrive of a computer you no longer have to hit the update price button, it updates all by itself.

With this said, a little game of mine has been to see how how expensive a computer I can build off their site. Today, I hit an alltime high, far surpassing the $13,000 I have seen in the past. The big boost was the 16g of Ram and the 1k of harddrive space (that is 1 thousand g, not kilobytes).

Todays high score: $24,376.00
It could have been more, but I decided not to get the Server software installed.

So that should be 1TB: 1 terabyte. Just a FYI.

People in the know realize how huge that is. [Big Grin]

We also think it looks hideously stupid to say '1k.' [Wink]

What I find impressive, is that the B.O.L. PowermMac has a lot of the goodies that the T.O.L. model has. Very uncharacteristec of Apple.

Now people can get a pretty nice Apple computer, load it up over time with a GigaGob (technically a GG) of memory and have the ability to outfit it with a Terra-Honkin' (TH) 30" monitor without buying a special card -- all that for a tower upon which technically you still spend an RCH under two kilobucks U$.

Not quite as freakin' geekin' as an iPod Nano, but still pretty freakin' geekin'.
