Well there are some decent bits of Microsoft...the Xbox and Xbox Live departments, for instance.
(he says, after coming off another session of Halo 2 online...)

If only the Xbox weren't a piece of technological shit. They break too often, they're cheaply produced, and the quality of their parts is shit too.

I use MS software as little as possible. I make my living as a system administrator in a Windows shop, but it's all Free Software at home.
That being said, I use a Microsoft wireless optical mouse because every time I looked, it was always the most comfortable for me on the store display, and it has been a very good mouse.

Actually, that would be my experience of the PS2. I haven't had any issues with my XBox, and I know few that have. On the other hand, I only know one person who's PS2 continued to function for much more than a year and a half.

I find that odd, since, aside from the anecdotal data (ie my ps2 not breaking in over 2 years, and my gf's xbox breaking in its first 8 months), there are people who have laucned class action suits against microsofts for the sohddy building of their xboxes and their inability to get it fixed for a half decent price..
Unsafe power cords, DVD ROM drives that don't read some discs correctly. Shoddy power supplies.
But, I digress. YMMV I suppose.

With the amount of stories Ive heard involving PS2's not reading discs, Im suprised that you all arnt dissing it. They are notorious for not reading DVDs properly.
I havent heard of many issues with Xboxes, but I dont have one...

LOL.. I am on Microsoft's side. I own both- PS2 on the Xbox, and I would favour the Xbox, because its just the better console, and the better games are available for the xbox (splinter cell rulo0rz!)-- I just like the Xbox- I never had any problems with discs or quality of assembly problems..
But in general- I think that Microsoft does a great job. Windows XP is an excellent piece of software, that is extremely reliable and crash-resistant.
Why do you try to stay away from MS word? I dont hate it that much either, LOL..
Maybe just some general hate?

my view of the Xbox:
I take care of my systems, and they have never broken at all. My neighbors are wild punks. Their PS2 breaks constantly, their Xbox once.
I have never heard of any major issues with xbox, and I frequent a few gaming forums.
Their controller cords disconnect when you yank them, so the system doesnt fall off the shelf.
From a hardcore MS hater, I have to give them props on it.

The quality of the games avaliable for the XBox is in no way Microsoft's responsibility - unless you count essentially bribing developers to develop XBox exclusives (Bungie). Credit where credit is due - id est, not there.

yes.. thats true.. but its naive to honestly believe that microsoft has no influence on which games are being developed and which ones are not..

Maybe that's why they made the infamous XBox controllers so chunky, to protect against the likes of SilverBlade ![[Wink]](wink.gif)
