Right, I'm off home to start playing as much pop music as I can find to offset the Scary Metal Alliance that seems to be coalescing into existence!

Ah, I was only teasing, really... I'm one of those irritating people who looks through other people's music collections, so audioscrobbler just has an innate appeal to me... It is interesting, though, looking through the stats by country:
http://www.audioscrobbler.com/places/
whhich artists get consistently high placings, eg Radiohead, Green Day, The Beatles (yes, even in Vatican City!)...

Given that all I seem to hear on my daily commute across London is boof-dish techno and hippity-hoppity gangstery stuff, it's amazing that such, um, "traditional" forms of rock music are still listened to by so many people worldwide... *Young* people, too (the average age seems to be early 20s)...

(Places back of hand on fevered brow) Is this what I fought in the Poonk Wars for? ;-)

Actually, it'd be kind of hypocritical of me to launch into an anti-metal rant (even if I did feel that strongly about it, which I don't) -- metal played a part in my early teenage years, Ver Sabs, Deep Purple, LedZep, they all meant something to me at some point (I even saw the original Sabs at Liverpool Empire, but maybe I shouldn't be admitting to that!)

Good luck to all of us, I sez -- remember that there's no such thing as "bad" music, there's only stuff which we personally aren't into... And creative endeavour should be encouraged, not sneered at...

Right, now where did I leave that CD by Exploding Dog's Vomit? ;-)

All right, I am in, I just hope that I have managed to set everything up correctly.

I am using Winamp at the moment.

Actually, the Mac plug-in lets you upload from your iPod. [Smile]

Mac one does. I don't own a mac, and the windows iTunes plugin doesn't have that capability 'cuz the author doesn't own an iPod.

It looks like my Nomad streams are also not supported for Winamp. So a majority of my tracks won't show on my lists. [ohwell]

New setback in the scrobbling front: I haven't been listening to much music lately. Instead, I've been listening to the audio version of US Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor's "The Majesty of the Law", about SCOTUS and the US Constitution. Very interesting, especially since O'Connor is considered by most to be the swing vote among the nine Justices.

It's part of the spec that radio streams aren't meant to be included in submissions, even if all the tags are OK. Of course, if you were to record the stream first, and then listen to the resultant MP3s I think that might work.
