I have recieved an offer(last night) to go to the Chet Atkins Tribute Week in Nashville, Tennesee, which is basically a place for country guitarists to go to learn new licks and such, and lasts for a week, and is really hard to get into, and being that I'm offered to go, I think thats an honor. The person who offered said they'd pay half my expenses, if I could get the other half. I am a blues guitarist by heart, but, country licks can be used in blues, I guess... should I take his offer? or should I not...

kind of reminds me of the song Crossroads(Originally by Robert Johnson for those *not in the know*)

Yeah I think you should go. Its always good to broaden your horizons. Even if your not a country guitarist at least you will learn some new things that you can apply to whatever you want to do.

Go. It sounds like it's a big honor, you can learn something, and even make some connections that might be helpful in the future.

Country and blues are two side of the same coin, and they are definitely both part of American music heritage.

Go if you can. And good luck on your upcoming surgery. That, in and of itself, is even more reason to go.
