Then I'm not much of a geek. [cry baby] I have a car but no PDA, I don't collect cards nor action figures, and I have a balanced diet.

(Ok, I'm probably a different kind of geek, just not a comic one.)

I know it was probably a non-geek that wrote this. Very few of them apply to me also.

But I still thought it was funny.

That seems to apply to what people think is geek when actually it is more like nerdy.

Actually, this seems more dorky to me [Smile]

The general consensus was (and might still be) that nerds are generally intelligent people with wide ranging interests, geeks are people very knowledgeable about specific topics, and dorks are just socially inept without any specific knowledge or intelligence [Smile]

nice but doesn't really apply to geeks, I agree with metasquares except i think geeks are the one's which have a wide range of knowledge while nerds are focused on one thing.

I'd second the 'nerdy' or 'dorky' comments.

Besides, you'd have to either have a *huge* little black book, or be very stupid to know fewer URLs than girls' numbers. [Wink]

On another note, I remember very few numbers these days, as I have a cell phone / mobile with a contact list. [Wink] (And backed up in Address Book.app [or abook!])

Hrmmm..

Seems that just the "Your family and friends use you as tech support." applies to me.. [Razz]

It also seems that it's assuming that the geek is a guy! Unless the geek happens to be lesbian..

Anyway...

I don't think anyone has ever been brave enough to ask (at least not in public). Probably due to my complete lack of shame and willingness to answer such things and give too much info in the process.

So, in that spirit... no, I'm not a furry although I dated one once (she liked teddy bears). As a result I learned:

1) fake fur holds in body heat quite well

2) sweating profusely inside a fake fur suit results in an odor that is far worse than anything you ever thought your armpit could produce

3) you should really make sure the fake fur can be washed in water, because there's no way you'll have the nerve to take it to a dry cleaner and leave it with your name attached

Hmm... If I were going to make a guess, I'd say Vampirism, LARP and RPGs.

Man, I'm currently 0/10 [Frown] (though at times I have engaged in a couple)

Maybe I should find something better to do with my time?

And dressing up as Darth Maul for my 21st birthday was fun too.

I'm on two and a half - I do know more URLs that phone numbers, be they male or female; and my friends and family use me for tech support. The half is that I own everything on the "but not a C-A-R" list except the PS2 - that's because the rest are actually useful!
