How to avoid the flu...........

Eat right! Make sure you get your daily dose of fruits and veggies.

Take your vitamins and bump up your vitamin c.

Get plenty of exercise because exercise helps build your immune system.

Walk for at least hour a day, go for a swim, take the stairs instead of the
elevator, etc.

Wash your hands often. If you can't wash them, keep a bottle of
antibacterial stuff around.

Get lots of fresh air. Open windows whenever possible.

Get plenty of rest.

Try to eliminate as much stress from your life as you can.

OR ...

You can take the doctors office approach. Think about it, when you go for a
shot, what do they d! o first? Clean your arm with alcohol.
Because alcohol kills germs. So......

I walk to the liquor store (exercise), put lime in my Corona (fruit),
celery in my Bloody Mary (veggies), drink on the bar patio (fresh air), get
drunk, tell jokes, and laugh (eliminate stress) and then pass out (rest).
The way I see it, if you keep your alcohol levels up flu germs can't get

There's nothing wrong with me, This is how I'm supposed to be.

I think there may be some truth to that. But you have to drink an awful lot of alcohol (and I have) to kill every tiny organism in you body. Unfortunately it also kills the good ones.

I grew up during the "cocktail" era.

After dinner (on week nights even!) my parents would get in the car and go "visiting."

Basically, we'd drive around until they saw some friends who were at home.

We'd stop and they'd go in to "visit" which meant many rounds of cocktails and then home by 10 or 11.

Some nights we stayed home and the friends "visited" us. I grew up mixing cocktails and licking the swizzle sticks.

No wonder I love my martinis!

Anyway, I cannot REMEMBER either one of my pickled parents EVER having a flu or cold the entire time I was growing up.

Since they've gotten older and cut back on the drinking, though, they have both been known to get the flu at least once a season.

So, maybe there's something to your cocktail cure!

Pick a martini with lots of Vitamin C (like a Lemon Drop) and enjoy!

Yeah, and not only does alcohol keep the evil germies away, it helps you forget how crap you feel if you DO get sick.
Bless it's little heart.
