Well, poo-bum. Our gym closed. I'm not a huge fan of the gym, but this one was a block away from home, minimal, and had a nice guy running it. Also, it was a really good resource for strength training, esp. for leg muscle groups.

Any exercise geeks out there have some good recommendations for alternative, non-gym stuff to work out the old gams? Current resources: tennis courts, frisbee, running trails, small dumbells, and a yoga mat.

Thanks guys. Wall sits sound particularly good-- nice static exercise, can't injure yourself as easily! We've got a staircase at home, so I should try running up and down stairs needlessly a bit more. I already run up stairs at least twice weekdays to exit the train platform to and from work.

Thanks zesovietrussian, but bikes ain't in the resource list. We're on a tight budget until *someone* finishes the Neverending PhD... and though I could probably find a used bike for not too much money (esp. since we're saving on gym fees now), I'd prefer not to buy any new equipment at the moment.

You can get a lot of lower body exercise kicking your new boss in the shins (or other body part of choice) when he isn't looking... [Smile]
