Ok, people. Let's break the ice and have some fun.

I have funny name, even for a Turk. I admit that. And it's even funnier to hear it from a foreigner.
My job involves lot's of international telephone calls and I can sense the sweating while the other party is trying to say my name.

Because there is no way you can pronounce it correctly if you don't have a degree on Turkish Language.

My name means "the one who brings good luck to the family".

Here's the competition, Say my name, record it, send it to me and I give the big prize to the best one!
Don't forget to add your forum nick to the mesage.

And the big prize is a Genuine Giant Turkish Evil Eye Bead. An ancient talisman believed to protect you from evil-looks [devil wand] and hopefully from computer crashes [Big Grin] This is the ultimate anti-virus companion and a cool decoration for your server room. Just google "evil eye bead" and see it yourself.

Here are the rules:
1-By submitting an entry, you release all copyright of your recording to Steve Jobs. [Big Grin]
2-If I receive an entry from a techno-talkin' hot blondie I reserve the right to call it a day! Sorry guys [Wink]
3-Deadline is 01.Jan.2006, if you meet the criteria on the second section, I have the right to make an exception.
4-I buy the bead, I pay the postage.
5-You MUST be a registered forum member.
6-Keep the attachments small.

Not if you're a techno-talkin' hot blondie! [Big Grin]

Ugurcan, you might want to specify the gender of the hot blondie. Unless you don't care, of course [Wink]

Okay, just for clearing any question marks on your minds, that is a techno-talkin' hot blonde babe. [Big Grin] and yes, rules do not apply if you are one..

At the very least, I'm sure to win the worst-microphone-ever award.

Mostly because I didn't have a microphone handy and mis-used a cheap pair of headphones that came with an MP3 player [crazy]

Now, the competition is for the best sounding one, but how is it judged? Correctness, or just plain horriblness?

I've received 2 entires so far [Roll Eyes] , and to be honest they are almost perfect! [thumbsup] I'm surprised. You can't be cheating somehow, right? [Smile]

This competition is for fun. Since I'm new here, I needed a silly excuse to send out a new year gift and I came up with that.. [Smile]

So, please send something people! and hopefully, I'll figure out a way to choose the winner.

Depends on your definition of cheating.

One aspect of my job is providing support for customers and representatives around the world. As a result, I've had a bit of practice pronouncing names in almost every language even if I have no clue about the language itself. I can even pronounce my own name backwards so that it sounds correct when you play the sound sample in reverse. Of course, that just proves I'm a dork with too much time on his hands [Big Grin]

Email is ugurcank at gmail dot com

And until I really need viagra or cheap rolex replicas I prefer not to write my email straight [Big Grin]

With the last entry it makes 3 in total. Come on folks, plug your microphones!

Thank you... Thank you!

/me bows

I'm so excited that I can hardly conjugate verbs! It's like my happiness has been surgically enhanced! I just want everyone to know that even in my wildest hallucinations, I never would have thought that watching Sesame Street as a child and singing the ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ song with Big Bird would ever pay off. I'd like to thank my mom and Big Bird and Elvis and <*snip* 3,768 other names removed>

I use Opera and generally have Java, Javascript and plugins disabled... what's a popup? [Big Grin]
