Magnificent valo(u)r to CrawGator. He merged a potential story fork, and he calmed my anxieties about introducing a cliche like an "old hermit" by allowing for a labyrinth. Thanks.

Thanks, I wanted to keep the labyrinth, but I also wanted to keep the action on the wrecking ball. I figured I just had to tie them both together. I also got to add a little meat and a new character. I am interested to see what someone else will come up with.

bull3t, if you can't contribute to the story without being childish, please don't post to it. The rest of us would like to enjoy it.

Agreed. And much thanks to Xenobender and RedNivek for restoring the flow...

even though it now appears that my underwear has been for sale on ebay.

This is great, I'm impressed by the storytelling and the intensity that is obviously going into the posts. I sense that people really care about this story, and that is super neat.

Idea: maybe we should start a couple of stories? In different genres even?

heh, for instance,a geek western could be funny...

------------

"Gall darnit Jeb, my gun's jammed!
No worries my cowboy friend, I'll just reboot it!

Jeb placed his friend's gun on the ground, then wound up and kicked it as hard as he could. It bounced off a rock hard, freeing the trigger mechanism.

Unfortunately, it also fired, and the bullet struck Jeb's cowboy pal, killing him rather suddenly.

Later that week, as Jeb stood on the gallows, overlooking the jeering crowd, with a noose around his frail neck, he thought to himself... "Why didn't I become a circus geek like my dad?"

Sure can and why not? Maybe have a rule or option of having every tenth poster to change the genre . Like from Sci-fi to western to dancing to whatever.. it could take eons if not then months to go thru all we have collected as geeks. We could even have Weeks where we could have have themes installed like i have seen in some forums on bulletin boards. I opt for the big Robot, cute girl, hero-boy-pilot of robot, where everythings destroyed and/or changed by way of global catastrophe. Sorta like BlueSubmarine #6.
