Wow, summer went by fast here in the Northern hemisphere. We didn't really do anything epic, just puttered along at home, with a few day trips.
Things I did, not related to work:
  • finished painting my house (mostly)
  • re-roofed a little wood shed and added two used skylights to it. It's now a nice shed not a black hole from hell.
  • planted some blueberries and tomatoes. The blueberries were a bust, but the tomatoes are really tasty!
  • searched in vain for Noctilucent clouds, but spotted some nice meteors.
  • installed a hand pump in an old well, for watering plants. After about 5 buckets, wished I had put in an electric pump. [Big Grin]
  • spent a lovely day at the beach, but scraped my knee really bad on barnacles. YOW!
  • watched Dark. (loved it)
How did you do?

It was a peaceful summer here.

Lots of home improvement items. I think we even finished a couple.

Lots of work on cars. I might have actually fixed some stuff.

I changed jobs. Again. I might even keep this one for a while. 😉

And took a trip to to South Dakota and rode a Harley through Sturgis on the first day of the rally.

All in all, it was a full summer. Especially considering how short it was up in the mountain west this year.

When Nitro and I drove out west (when we moved), Interstate 90 was packed with bikers heading to Sturgis!

I had no idea you two moved! Hope your new digs are treating you well.

But never go to Sturgis during the rally. Unless you like 4-way stops and moving at the break neck speed of 5mph. [tired]

Oh, we didn't move recently, we moved from Ontario to BC like, omg, 18 years ago!
We turned off before Sturgis, and went south a bit to visit Custers' Last Stand etc, etc... but yeah, even at Wall Drug it was getting pretty crowed with bikes. [Razz]

I should work on my reading comprehension.

But in any case, happy almost fall!

Just got back from 7 weeks in Iceland, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and Hong Kong.

I think retirement suits me.

Druid! oh wow, sounds great. [Applause]

Isn't Iceland amazing? I need to get back there sometime.

Went to Salzberg, Innsbruck, and Munich. Gorged on excellent sausages, spetzel, and beer.
Other than that, nothing much.

+1 to Iceland. We've been twice. It's a very different experience in winter and summer.

quantum! oh cool, how was Iceland different between winter and Summer? Nitro and I went in the Spring... patches of snow in the campgrounds... brrrr. We had to buy a wardrobe of Icelandic sweaters to compensate. Luckily the women in the thrift store took pity on us and we got them super cheap. [hearts]
